Jan 13, 2023

By ChatGPT from OpenAI

All the world is talking about the amazing capabilities of ChatGPT from OpenAI, so we decided to check it out. After first asking it some questions about Evanston, which we found to be quite accurate, we then asked it to “write a 600-word blog post on why should I consider moving to Evanston IL.” While the finished piece was not quite 600 words, here’s what it wrote:

“Evanston, Illinois is a vibrant and diverse city located just north of Chicago. With its beautiful lakefront location, excellent schools, and diverse population, Evanston is an attractive place to live for people of all ages and interests. Here are just a few reasons why you should consider moving to Evanston, IL:

  1. “Proximity to Chicago: Evanston is located just a short distance from downtown Chicago, making it an ideal place to live for people who work in the city. It is easily accessible via public transportation, with multiple train and bus lines running between Evanston and Chicago. This makes it convenient to take advantage of all that Chicago has to offer, while still enjoying the benefits of living in a smaller, more residential community.
  2. “Excellent schools: Evanston has a number of excellent schools, both public and private, that serve the city’s students. The city is also home to Northwestern University, which offers a wide range of academic programs and is a leader in research and innovation. This makes Evanston a great place to raise a family or further your education.
  3. “Cultural diversity: Evanston is known for its diverse and inclusive community, with people from all walks of life living and working together. This diversity is reflected in the city’s many cultural attractions and events, including festivals, music and art performances, and more. This makes Evanston a vibrant and interesting place to live, with something new to discover around every corner.
  4. “Outdoor recreation: Evanston is situated on the shores of Lake Michigan, which provides a beautiful natural setting and a variety of recreational opportunities. The city has a number of public beaches, as well as a beautiful lakefront park with walking and biking trails. In addition, Evanston has a number of other parks and open spaces, making it easy to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.
  5. “Thriving downtown area: Evanston has a bustling downtown area with a variety of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. The city is home to many unique and independent businesses, as well as a number of chain stores and restaurants. There is always something to do in Evanston, whether you’re looking to shop, eat, or just spend an afternoon exploring.

“Overall, Evanston is a great place to live for people who want the convenience of living near a major city, while still enjoying the benefits of a smaller, more residential community. With its excellent schools, diverse population, and wide range of recreational and cultural offerings, Evanston is an attractive place to call home.”
